The Road Goes Ever On and On

“She had a strange feeling in the pit of her stomach, like when you’re swimming and you want to put your feet down on something solid, but the water’s deeper than you think and there’s nothing there.”
-Julia Gregson

It’s been a while since I’ve been genuinely excited about my future. Even when I was planning my trip to Japan, I didn’t allow myself to get excited until about three days before I left because I was scared something would happen last minute and I wouldn’t get to go. Now I’ve started setting goals in my life (specifically, to get a novel published), it’s really hitting me how long this road is going to be. It’s not so much that I mind the work, but I don’t like not being able to see progress along the way. I think this goal is going to be one of those things. Back to work!
